Students take one compulsory module on research skills in Semester 1 and two modules in a chosen area over both semesters. Applicants should also provide, as part of their postgraduate application, copies of their degree transcript and, if applicable, a copy of their degree award certificate, two reference letters and written work in a subject relevant to literary study. In them, you are guaranteed to produce new work and will develop on-the-spot writing and editing skills and an ability to produce creative work across a range of topics and genres. The fees you pay will depend on your fee status.

During the first two semesters September to December and January to Aprilstudents must take the following modules: Our students write novels, stories, poetry, monologues, as well as explore creativity in non-fiction, essays, journalism, reviewing and writing for the theatre.
Application deadline 31 January for those also applying for School of English scholarships; 1 June for all other applicants.
